The moment I wake up, I’m already reaching for this device that seems to own the family. And every morning I ask myself, why now? Why is it so hard to appreciate silence, to be quiet, in your own thoughts, for the first few minutes of the day?

As this continue to be the case throughout the day, week, months and years, it is an open question as to what I have missed by not listening to myself without external activity.

One thought pops up and says, but why do you sleep? Isn’t that the time you’re processing things on your own? Live life, and forget the questions. That might be true, says the questioning side of me, but maybe it is time to find out what can be with a little more silence.

And so the journey begins.
