  • Stream

    May 12th, 2023

Ideas come as a constant stream, never leaving you for a moment. Once in a while, a good one comes along. And then, you scramble around to catch it, to nourish it further, and make something greater like a good fisherman turns a catch into a meal.

What is needed then, is to be more like the fisherman. Instead of just standing by the river marveling, we should be ready with our rod and bait.

Of course we will catch some bad catches, but it’s also our only chance to catch the good ones. And this speaks to the need to be prepared. For if we only come with one set of bait, we are only a little better off than coming without any fishing gear. We need enough bait to stay the course.

As is with fishing, maybe it ought to be if we want to harvest our best ideas. Come prepared to catch ideas, and be willing to shift through the bad ones.

  • Strap it on

    May 11th, 2023

As the saying goes, all good things come from good health. A sick person only wants one thing, but a healthy person wants many.

This calls on us to strap on those sneakers or our exercise gear, and get the body moving. The rewards are many, the commitment seems mountainous. But what’s a few minutes a day for a healthier life?

  • Time Taken

    May 5th, 2023

As I pondered on this post, it brings into context that it’s indeed true that for most things to progress, you have to ignite if first. Of course, once you start, it still takes time and effort to complete any project of significance.

It all starts with the commitment to start though. The pondering doesn’t count.

  • My first Cinquain

    April 30th, 2023

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been introduced to a new game called Spelling Bee, which has led me to discover many words I never knew existed in the English language. Occasionally, I challenge myself not only to spell the words but also to learn their meanings.

As I delved deeper into my love for words, I stumbled upon the poetic form of cinquains. Intrigued, I decided to play around with this structure, resulting in this poem:

    Knowledge

    Improving, study

    Learn, do, reflect

    Changing, growing, transforming, contributing

    Awareness

This journey of discovery has only just begun, and I am excited to continue exploring the depths of language and poetry.

  • When we need rules

    April 26th, 2023

If everyone wants to be free, there must be some rules to guard those freedoms. Thus, for freedom to prevail, enforcement is key. How ironic that we commonly think that freedom means no rules!

Similarly, constraints help us to be more creative. When we set up and maintain the boundaries, we can find ways to invent within the boundaries.
