Circumstances change, and so do our priorities. But when it comes down to it, I can only think of two key questions: what problem is important to you, and what work are you doing to get you closer to solving it?

What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.
Where are you going? I typically have many places I have planned out to visit on any one trip. Any answer I give therefore is incomplete. Plus I think it’s better to ask where I am, then I can give an accurate answer.

What appears to be a simple joke to one person can be perplexing to another. If I cannot relate to the context, how can I participate? This is a useful question as we ask ourselves why our message is not resonating with those we seek to connect with.
Context serves as an essential bridge that must be established for communication to be effective. But contextual information need not overload the message, just as a bridge only needs to enable us to cross to the other side.
We can ensure the presence of context in our communication by thinking about the needs of the recipient, and focusing only on the critical information to create the bridge.

It’s hard when we’re faced with so many distractions, but with increased practice, we can truly optimize for success.
If we try to win the attention battle this instant, and focus on the important thing, we move forward, even if only an inch. And at the end, those inches will add up.
Shall we try, just this once?

It requires us to be temporarily uncomfortable, to not know what we are doing.
If we grow comfortable with discomfort, and seek it more, how much more can we grow?
