  • Can I be the recipient

    October 12th, 2023

If you had a million dollars to give away, who would you give it to?

If so, I’ll do what the sound financial advice says and pay myself first. Once I am on firm ground, I will go to the people around me most in need.

  • Assumptions

    October 9th, 2023

I used to think that I’m an early bird until I came to Japan. Suddenly, a man who couldn’t sleep past 6 in the morning cannot wake up at 8 o’clock, save for the alarm. This begs the question: what else about me could be due to other things if the shift in timezones can disturb my sleep pattern so bad.

What is known about sleep patterns and the timezone you live in?

  • Gift

    September 23rd, 2023

Of course I need to write, or rather, want to write. However, it is difficult to find the words to put on this pad. Nonetheless, every word seems to just fall in place as I continue to write.

Some people speak of draft number one, and optimising thereafter. Maybe that’s how this one should be treated, as a rough draft. But the optimisation is not coming now, it is rather left for another posts.

If I should revisit the blog post again in future, I will no doubt find nuggets to help improve the future me. But for now, this is my rambling gift to myself, and maybe, just maybe, you too.

  • A silent walk

    September 21st, 2023

What would your life be like without music?

Absent of total deafness, I think life always has music. The birds, the rhythmic sounds of footsteps, voices we hear from those around us.

Because there’s never a truly silent moment in everyday life, music is always there to be found.

Yet, without the regular kind of music, I don’t know if adjustment would be easy. However, we have always thrived as humans, and I don’t think the absence of the regular will stop us.

  • Am I the only one?

    September 19th, 2023

Write about your most epic baking or cooking fail.

I can’t cook to save my life, and it’s amazing I’ve survived this long without learning the basics of feeding myself.

Wait, I can fix myself an egg, and probably braai some meat, so I might survive.

My biggest failure is probably not giving the kitchen enough time to grow on me.
