Yes, we only live once, but the original meaning was not for us to party away. It was meant to commit to a cause. To choose to go through this door, and continue going.
Commitment is it’s own reward.

Progress isn’t automatic. It requires us to repeat what worked. Hourly, daily, weekly, we’re required to stand up and do it again.
On a rainy day, as on a sunny day, us against the elements. Would you have it any other way?
Some walk because they have to, others walk because they want to. Both walk, but the motivation is different.
We often forget the privileges we enjoy, thinking the world is as we are. Of course, each experience is subjective, and each one of us will have different experiences, starting points, things that we can do or not do by default etc.
When we take a moment to stop and observe, however, it will make us aware of the richness of live. The pain and the joy hidden in plain sight, and of the many things we take for granted.
We are lucky to be alive in this moment, for life is not guaranteed for anyone. And what a beautiful life it is.
Sometimes, it’ll happen that you miss a few sessions of the important work we ought to do. Maybe there was no legitimate reason to miss those sessions, but we did.

In sports, you ensure that you beat the other side. As you press forward, you make sure that you also protect your back, so the opponent doesn’t score more than you do. The same is true for the results we seek. We have to work on both offense and defense.
Whereas you can train within rules, and master those rules in sports, in life, the advantage is that you can create your own rules, and play to your strengths.
All it might require is focus on what’s key for the goal.
