Ideas come as a constant stream, never leaving you for a moment. Once in a while, a good one comes along. And then, you scramble around to catch it, to nourish it further, and make something greater like a good fisherman turns a catch into a meal.
What is needed then, is to be more like the fisherman. Instead of just standing by the river marveling, we should be ready with our rod and bait.
Of course we will catch some bad catches, but it’s also our only chance to catch the good ones. And this speaks to the need to be prepared. For if we only come with one set of bait, we are only a little better off than coming without any fishing gear. We need enough bait to stay the course.
As is with fishing, maybe it ought to be if we want to harvest our best ideas. Come prepared to catch ideas, and be willing to shift through the bad ones.
