  • Do it with love

    July 28th, 2022

The persons we meet and the key issues at that time can affect what we ultimately become. Amidst all, we should look to retain our humanity.

We need to act with love. Not act to harm, nor to please. Doing the right thing, even when it’s difficult and not popular. We need to avoid conceding to the environmental forces.

For the Sun will rise again tomorrow, and if we meet again, we wanted to have parted well. And when we meet again, you may realize we need each other, and our humanity prevails.

  • It’s seldom straight

    July 23rd, 2022

It’s amazing how many times I plan to do one thing, but am delayed or sidetracked. Then, in the heat of the moment, I will ask myself why I didn’t think of the distractions.

I’m learning that, increasingly, the way is not straight, but that the curves are inbuilt in the journey.

It helps to build in a bit of fat.

  • Who is stopping you?

    July 22nd, 2022

James clear closes of another brilliant newsletter by asking us: “If you have a ten year plan, what’s stopping you from doing it in two?” It is a valid question. Is it a ten year plan because it is a nice long timeframe, or will it be two years of work towards the end?

Just a little bit of hard work now can bring the future closer, let’s not stop.

  • Detour

    July 19th, 2022

On any journey, things may happen that will alter your plan. A breakdown that delays your arrival, a rerouting via a new route, are all possibilities.

While these may be stressful at times, it helps to balance that view with the opportunity given to you. An opportunity to slow down, to rethink, to learn new ways of doing things, to get to know new people, or to get to know yourself better.

When viewed with a balanced perspective, maybe the detour can be a lesson, in more ways than one.

  • Who are we talking to?

    July 16th, 2022

While commuting, we are a lot, while at the same time, we are individuals. Each busy on his or her phone, none talking to his or her neighbor. Who are you talking to? And what are we missing when we forego the potential friend here for another a distance away?

As it is on a commute, so it is in many a social gathering. We are half-present, half gazing away at the phone. What if, instead, now that we have met our friends, we put the phone away, and be present in their company. Then, we know who we are talking to, and we do it in realtime, with real contact and all the human emotions that we cannot send in an emoji.
