  • Many ways to say it

    July 15th, 2022

When you encounter foreign situations, and have to communicate what you need with those who do not understand what you say, you learn that communication is rich.

There are so many ways we can communicate beyond putting words in complete sentences. It is amazing what we can do as humans to bond.

  • Is it a door, or a wall?

    July 11th, 2022

When stuck, all you may need is to look at the issue from a different perspective. Change your seat, and the wall might be a door.

A new perspective can only enrich what you already know. This way, your decision might be more balanced than if you only looked at it from one angle.

  • We’re truly connected

    July 9th, 2022

When you take a minute to think of just how many people were involved in making your breakfast, you realize that we are indeed connected as humans.

Say your breakfast is just bread with eggs. It started with a farmer or two, was packaged and transported to the market, where it was stored and packed for you to buy. Finally, it was prepared, hopefully to your liking.

The farmer, transporter, the marketer, and you all had different objectives. We don’t need to be the connected.

  • Tired

    July 7th, 2022

When you feel you have given it all, or maybe you just feel lazy that day, know that, deep down, you know you can. That extra rep, or half rep is there. Of course, sometimes it can be dangerous, like with a barbell over your chest. The rest of the time, however, the damage of trying is far less.

You just might be surprised with what you can do with the last kick or the Hail Mary pass as time expires. As long as the clock is ticking, why should being tired be an excuse?

  • Peaks and Troughs

    July 6th, 2022

Sometimes when we project the future, we chart a straight path. We want things to be better than they are today.

However, if we are to learn anything from our past, and that of those we chose to study, it is that the path is seldom straight.

To reach the peak, there will be troughs, lateral moves, and areas where we need to backtrack. Often, these test us, and make us question whether we can reach the peak we seek.

Sometimes, the answer might be to abandon the climb, to seek out another mountain. But more often than not, navigating the troughs will help with the climb. Then, the pain of the troughs can add to the richness of the journey.

Because every trough is followed by a peak, no matter how small, it also gives us multiple milestones to celebrate the journey.
